The process of licensing air transport according to Ministerial Decree number 127 of 1990 which actually has been replaced with Ministerial Decree number 11 of 2001 has several requirements to obtain licenses from various parties. In Ministerial Decree number 11 of 2001 chapter 3 regarding air transport licensing, there are 2 types of air transport activities namely commercial air transport and non-commercial air transport. Commercial air transport can be further divided into 2 namely scheduled and non-scheduled. The licensing application process begins with fulfilling the requirements :
1. applicant has a commercial air transport business license (permit for scheduled or unscheduled commercial air transportation) that is valid as long as the permit holder is still carrying out his business activities. The applicant is also required to have a business establishment certificate which one of the activities must contain scheduled commercial air transport business and or unscheduled commercial air transportation and has been approved by the Minister responsible for ratifying the deed of establishment of the company.
